Maybe its the New England girl in me, but I can’t resist stripes. They are one of my favorite prints to wear any time of the year. I normally stay within my Grey, black, white and tan color scheme, but I couldn’t resist this colorful striped sweater. I think it’s because the colors make me think of spring, and I can’t wait for it to get here.
You can’t tell from the photos, but you can from the widget below, my jeans also have a darker stripe down the side. I know that stripes aren’t a ground breaking trend for spring, but they were huge on the runways during fashion week.
Stripes in all variations rules the runways, from the pastel candy striper version to bold and colorful ones, they were on almost every runway. They’re sure to remain a massive trend all into summer. They really do go with everything and allow you to add pattern to your wardrobe with out going over the top. They’ve become so popular, they are pretty much considered a neutral.
Vertical stripes are great because they elongate the body and make you look taller and thinner. I don’t really buy into the theory that horizontal stripes make you look bigger, either. This sweater has horizontal stripes and is super cute. If I look bigger than I did, blame it on my donut 🍩 addiction and leave the stripes out of it!
If you love stripes as much as I do, then you’re in luck. I’ve linked some of my favorite striped items for spring below. 😄 And if you want to check out my other trend picks for the spring then click here & here.
And I didn’t forget accessories either:
So tell me what you think: Do you love stripes? or hate them? Are you on board with the spring trend or do you think it has fizzled out? Let me know in the comments below!
