July 4th Dress-ing

It’s almost America’s Birthday guys! And it’s time for a Party in the U.S.A (yes, that’s a Miley reference). Nothing is more perfect than being from Boston and celebrating on Cape Cod. You’re surrounded by history everywhere you go and the little Cape towns make you feel like you are in Hometown U.S.A. From flags flying high, and  weathered gray siding, to the beautiful beaches and coast line you really feel lucky to celebrate in such a beautiful and Patriotic part of the country. And I’m lucky to call this place my home, and not just a vacation spot.
Every year we have a huge family BBQ, this will be the first year I’m “officially” in the Darmon family, and then we head down to a private beach to watch the fireworks. On a clear night you can see Plymouth across the bay and all the way down to Provincetown, I’m not exaggerating when I say its almost 360º of fireworks. It’s breathtaking.
I’m usually one for dressing in themes, hello red, white, and blue, but as I’ve gotten older I’ve toned it down. This maxi just made me think patriotic summer on Cape Cod. It’s red base and blue and white flowers make it an updated take on my novelty dressing. It even has longer shoulder ties, so you can tie funky knots or your basic bow, and adjust as needed. It’s a lightweight gauze fabric, so it’s breathable for the hotter afternoon BBQ’s but the maxi is great for keeping your legs warm from the ocean sea breeze. I paired it with a straw bag and my sunnies (I never leave home without 2 pairs in my bag)!

Happy 4th of July Y’all,
