More is More: The Embellished Trend for Fall
So who’s excited its finally fall? I don’t know about you, but I couldn’t wait to pull out my sweaters and boots. Even though I love the beach, fall is definitely my favorite season. I’m lucky I get to live in New England where the weather changes pretty much over night, which means cooler nights and sweater weather. Maybe I’m partial, but there really isn’t anywhere quite like New England in the fall. With that said my fall uniform usually consists of jeans, boots, and sweaters. And I can’t pick just one style, I love them all. From crew necks to turtlenecks to cardigans, you get where I’m going with this. So when I saw this sequin embellished sweater I knew I had to add it to my collection (now I really sound like Ariel!). From the neutral color to the oversized style, and can we talk about the iridescent sequins on the sleeves? I mean total mermaid vibes, am I right?
I love that this cardigan is far from your basic everyday style. What’s the point of fashion if you can’t have fun with it? One of the biggest trends for fall is embellishment. From, pearl to studs to sequins the look is everywhere. It’s also one of the easiest, and in my opinion, fun looks to wear. You can tone it down by just wearing something that has little embellishment, maybe on the collar or cuff, or go all out in a total sequin top or pearl studded jeans. I ended somewhere in the middle with this cardigan. Yes, it has large iridescent sequins on the sleeves, but to me it’s minimal embellishment. Not that I would shy away from something completely covered in sequins!
I styled this look in my fall uniform look of jeggings, a t-shirt, and boots. On the topic of footwear, these beauties are from ShoeDazzle and were under $40. Crazy Right? You can sign up here and get your first pair for 75% off.
