Mustard Just Isn’t For Hotdogs
Hi guys and welcome to my favorite season!
Sweater Season that is, also known in New England as: Sweater Weather (cue SNL skit here LOL)
. It’s funny because we say it just like that too! But I digress. The other thing I love about besides sweaters, pumpkin spice lattes, and Halloween, is of course the fall color palette. From burgundy’s and jewel tones, to autumnal oranges, and of course my fave, mustard, I just can’t get enough. Now I know that mustard scares a lot of people but I’m here to tell you to embrace it. If your worried about whether or not it will wash you out, or if your hair color isn’t right for it, I’m telling you there are ways to incorporate it into your wardrobe without any of those things happening.
Now, my first piece of advice, is to not care about any of those things, if you like it wear it! But I know we all over analyze. , myself included. I feel like blondes totally brush yellow aside, and they shouldn’t. I’m pretty blonde on the lower part of my hair and can pull this color off just fine. However, if you’re still skeptical, then balance your outfit; add a jacket, break it with a killer accessory like a patterned scarf. In my case, the base of my outfit is black, along with all my accessory pieces.
The other easiest way to test the water is with a pop of the color. I’ve linked some great ways to incorporate this color into your wardrobe below. Two years ago I actually crocheted a scarf in this color because this color is really just my favorite.
Til Next Time!
